Children were among those killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza as relatives gathered to mourn at least 23 Palestinians killed on Tuesday.

Among the dead were two parents and their three children who were killed when an airstrike hit their tent in the Muwasi area of Khan Younis, according to Nasser Hospital.

The tent was hit by Israeli drones around 1 a.m., said Majed al-Mashwakhi, the children’s grandfather, while attending their funeral service in the hospital’s courtyard.

"My daughter's husband, my daughter, and their children were martyred," he said, sobbing. "They were four years old and two years old."

The dead also included six people who were killed when an airstrike hit their tent in the central town of Deir al-Balah, according to the Al-Aqsa hospital, which received the casualties.

Among the dead were a mother and her two children, the hospital said.

Another strike hit a group of people Monday morning also in Deir al-Balah, killing six people, including a woman, according to the hospital.

Gaza's Health Ministry said on Monday the Palestinian death toll from 22 months of war has passed 62,000.
