PITTSFIELD, Ill. (WGEM) - The city of Pittsfield is on a mission for the second year in a row: to make music.

The second annual Music with a Mission will return to Pittsfield Lake Ball Diamond on Sept. 7.

Little Texas will headline the event, along with performances from Nashville-based band Los Honky Tonkers and local guitarist and Pittsfield High School student Evan Darnell.

Pittsfield Mayor Gary Mendenhall said proceeds will once again go toward funding a new truck for the Pittsfield Fire Department and a new pavilion at the lake.

“We try to bring something to the community that people can go to and don’t have to travel to,” Mendenhall said. “It also shows off our community, our lake, and what we have to offer.”

Music with a Mission is on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 4 p.m.
