BOISE, Idaho — A motorcyclist died after police believe he suffered a medical emergency that led to a crash.

The Boise Police Department said that about 10 a.m. Tuesday, first responders were called to a crash on West Lemhi Street near Vista Avenue in Boise. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by Boise Fire Department crews and Ada County Paramedics, according to police.

Boise Police said preliminary information suggests the rider experienced a medical emergency while traveling westbound on Lemhi Street across Vista Avenue.

"The motorcycle went off the roadway, and while the rider attempted to return to the street, the motorcycle eventually came to a stop in the road," the Boise Police Department said in a news release.

The man's name is unknown at this time
