House prices in some of Kent’s most desirable postcodes have seen some of the steepest falls in the past year. Penshurst (TN11) recorded the biggest drop, with average sale prices plunging by more than a fifth (-20.9%) to £642,976. Nearby Langton Green (TN3) wasn’t far behind, down 20% to an average of £742,464.

In Sandwich (CT13), prices slid 17% in the last 12 months, leaving the average home now costing £347,796. Swanscombe (DA10) also saw a sharp fall, with house prices dropping 15.4% to £343,788.

Meanwhile, Queenborough is the cheapest place to buy a home in Kent based on average price of sale. Homes in the ME11 postcode area sold for an average of £224,167 each in the 12 months to the end of May. That’s less than any postcode area in our county with at least 20 sales over the last
