LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - After a brief break in showers and storms Tuesday, we are looking at the return of an unsettled pattern for our Wednesday afternoon.
We’ll start off our day with plenty of sunshine and that will help to quickly boost temperatures into the middle 90s by the afternoon.
Heat index values will climb back into the triple digits as well with most locations feeling more like 103-106° at times.
As we hit the afternoon hours, expect scattered showers and storms to fire up with the daytime heating and continue through the early evening before diminishing as we lose daylight.
Much like what we saw Monday, in the strongest storms the biggest risk remain heavy rain, frequent lightning as well as some gusty winds.
