WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - First responders are put into intense circumstances every day, which can have a negative effect on their mental well-being.

To try to help those responders through their struggles, more resources are being put in place to offer therapy and support.

“What our officers have to go through today goes way beyond the law enforcement officers,” U.S. Senator from Kansas Roger Marshall said. “We expect them to be behavioral health experts, marriage counselors and everything in between.”

Marshall met with law enforcement to look at the mental health struggles within their sect, and he helped seek out possible solutions.
