The hit man who murdered Toronto boxer Eddie “Hurricane” Melo and his longtime friend has a fresh bid at parole.

Charles Gagne’s appeal before the Parole Board of Canada will be held at an undetermined date in October, the Star has learned.

His earlier parole was revoked on Jan. 15 , after Correctional Service Canada heard that he was frequenting an establishment known for sex trafficking, when he had told authorities he was visiting his mother and sister for Thanksgiving dinner.

Gagne’s murder trial heard that he stalked Melo to his son’s Toronto daycare before finally shooting him and his friend Joao (Johnny) Pavao, 42, dead outside Amici Sport Café in Cliffway Plaza, near Hurontario St. and the QEW on April 6, 2001.
