SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Community Partnership of the Ozarks is hosting its first ever Homeless Youth Simulation which it’s leaders say isn’t an event, it’s a wake-up call.
Organizers gathered materials from similar programs across the state and real-life examples of kids near the Springfield area to make a simulation of what a young person experiencing homelessness might go through to try and get back on their feet.
The simulation is only an hour and a half long, and the amount of tasks participants will have to do makes it a little chaotic, but as Emily Fessler, the Continuum of Care Director for CPO says, that’s the point.
