Five juveniles were arrested after allegedly fleeing a stolen car that crashed in Trumbull on Sunday.

The teens were taken into custody shortly after midnight after the vehicle they were in crashed into a tree near a commuter lot in the area of Main Street and Broadway Road, according to the Trumbull Police Department .

Police said they had learned prior to the crash that the Monroe and Newtown Police Departments believed the vehicle was involved in multiple car break-ins. Following the crash, five teens allegedly took off running from the car and were apprehended in the area with assistance from Monroe police and Connecticut State Police troopers, according to Trumbull police.
