Police arrested a man they said admitted to wanting to damage a north Phoenix synagogue whose rabbi told The Arizona Republic that an antisemitic threat was recently posted on the congregation' s door.

Kevin Charles Pyles, 32, of Glendale, was charged with making a terrorist threat and computer tampering to threaten, both felonies, according to court documents. Pyles admitted to wanting to attack a synagogue to cause damage and expressed antisemitism on social media and filmed himself outside a Jewish congregation, according to a probable cause statement by Phoenix police.

Between April 21 and Aug. 10, Pyles posted multiple threats against Jews on his X account and targeted the Sha'arei Shalom Congregation near 13th and Grovers avenues, according to charging documents. Pyles said he wou
