HAMBURG, N.Y. — The sound of the announcer calling "ball one, ball two...", the excitement of the kids, then someone yelling 'I Got It!'

It wouldn't be a carnival, lawn fête or fair without it. But what you may not realize is that the popular game, 'I Got It', which see's contestants lob red rubber balls into a bin, hoping to line them up across a grid, is actually the brainchild of a Western New Yorker who was facing a dilemma.

Tim Kirwan of Boxall's Concessions says the game dates back nearly 70 years. "Back in the 50's, Mr. Boxall, my great-uncle Jack, he had indoor bingo and traveling bingo units and in 1952 they outlawed bingo. You had to be non-private organization."
