NORTH PROVIDENCE – An incident of excessive yard waste bags will lead to new rules in town.

Resident Nikki Bond says her family did a huge amount of yard work, producing a substantial load of waste. They bagged up everything in Lowe’s biodegradable waste bags, and Bond says she then checked the town’s website and learned that there is no limit on yard waste disposal in North Providence.

Bond said her mother called her on Victory Day, as her mom was staying with her dog while the Bonds were out of state. She said Mayor Charles Lombardi apparently came to the house and asserted that the amount of yard waste was ridiculous and the bags wouldn’t be picked up.
