A group of parents whose children attended Camp Mystic and died in flooding in Central Texas on July 4 will testify before the Texas Senate Disaster Preparedness and Flooding Select Committee on Wednesday.
During the special session, the Texas Senate is considering Senate Bill 1, which aims to enact reforms to improve safety, accountability and emergency preparedness at youth camps.

The hearing marks the first time the families will appear publicly before the Legislature since the disaster. They are expected to "share their experiences of unimaginable loss and urge lawmakers to enact stronger safety standards to prevent future catastrophes."
