OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Nearly three weeks after a shooting incident in Oshkosh that injured a 19-year-old, a suspect was taken into custody.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, detectives identified the suspect in the shooting of a 19-year-old man. The shooting incident reportedly happened on August 2 around 3 a.m.

The victim was shot in the shoulder and sent to a local hospital, police said.

On August 20, a surveillance operation was started on the suspect.

Authorities say they saw him going into a business in the 100 block of North Mall Drive in Grand Chute. The suspect tried fleeing through the back door, where he was taken into custody on first-degree recklessly endangering safety and attempted first-degree reckless homicide.
