MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A new research tool was installed at Dane Demo Farms to help track the impact of farming practices on soil health and water quality, Dane County announced Wednesday.

Dane County Executive Melissa Agard, the Dane County Land & Water Resources Department and community partners gathered this morning at Dane Demo Farms for the ribbon cutting ceremony on the first edge of field monitoring stations in the county.

Dane Demo Farms, a collaboration between local farmers, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Dane County Land & Water Resources Department, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, provides opportunities for farmers to directly research local impacts of conservation practices.
