ANDERSON, Ind — Anderson police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a suspect in a December 2024 fatal shooting .

The shooting happened Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 800 block of West 53rd Street , near Madison Avenue.

Responding officers located the victim, 28-year-old Dustin M. Rhodes, of Anderson, who was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition but later died from his injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting "resulted from an altercation involving multiple individuals," the Anderson Police Department said in a statement, adding that detectives arrested several people for their alleged roles in the incident during the initial stages of the investigation.
