MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman was convicted Wednesday of drug dealing following a one-day jury trial.

Tamela J. Hollingsworth, 54, was found guilty of dealing methamphetamine and dealing fentanyl – both felonies – following a jury deliberation that lasted two hours.

According to court documents, on Oct. 29, 2024, Hollingsworth was driving a 2013 Audi sedan along the northbound lanes of U.S. 36 when a Muncie police officer pulled her over for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, a K-9 officer alerted their handler about possible narcotics in Hollingsworth's car. After searching the car, court documents say officers seized plastic bags containing a brown, powder-like substance, as well as a "crystal-like" substance.
