MATTHEWS, N.C. — Two people were arrested after a high-speed chase in a stolen Dodge Charger that began in Monroe ended in Matthews, police say.
The incident began around 10:15 a.m. when a Monroe Police officer attempted to stop a Dodge Charger with a fake license plate. Investigators say the driver, identified as 23-year-old Ka'Nautica Todd, of Charlotte, sped off at high speed instead of stopping.
The pursuit continued through multiple jurisdictions and involved the Union County Sheriff's Office and Matthews Police. Todd allegedly crashed into another vehicle during the chase but kept going. Matthews Police were finally able to stop the pursuit and arrested both people inside the car.
Todd and the passenger, 20-year-old Asiah Clyde, were both wanted on outstanding warrants, according
