Woman killed in crash with cement truck in Cozad

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The driver of an SUV has died following a crash with a cement truck in Cozad Tuesday.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. when a Chevrolet Equinox tried to make a left turn off eastbound Highway 30 onto a residential street. NSP said the driver of the Chevrolet turned in front of a westbound cement truck and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Linda Bubak, 80, of Cozad, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the cement truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital in Cozad.

NSP was assisted by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Cozad Police Department, and the City of Cozad.

The crash remains under investigation.
