SPARTA, Ky. (WXIX) - Social media claims that the Kentucky Speedway was “abandoned” sparked tresspassing that led to dozens of arrests, according to the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office.
It was several months that TikTok, Instagram and Facebook influencers broke into the speedway, the sheriff’s office explained.
The influencers made videos with claims that Kentucky Speedway was abandoned, the sheriff’s office said.
That is not the case, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office emphasized.
“They (Kentucky Speedway) still hold driving schools and other various events there occasionally,” the sheriff’s office explained. “In addition, certain parts of the property are rented out to other companies.”
