Poudre School District students will have a full day of school Aug. 22, with updated weather forecasts eliminating the need for a previously planned early heat-related release at most elementary and middle schools.
Students at the impacted schools will still have two-hour early releases Aug. 20-21, the district said in an Aug. 20 email to families.
As of Aug. 20, the National Weather Service forecast for the 80525 ZIP code, which PSD uses to determine whether to release students early or close schools based because of heat concerns, called for a high temperature of 85 degrees with likely rain showers Aug. 22.
PSD had said in an Aug. 15 email that it would reevaluate planned early releases for Aug. 21-22 on Aug. 20 and let families know of any changes as soon as possible. The forecast
