A Back to School Dance at an Alabama junior high has turned into a possible criminal investigation.

Odenville Middle School held the dance on Friday night.

Since then, there have been multiple social media reports of inappropriate behavior that included boys lifting up girls’ dresses and taking photos and/or videos.

School officials addressed the situation Tuesday on Facebook, saying “many of these posts contain inaccurate information from individuals not connected to Odenville Middle School or St. Clair County Schools.”

“Please be assured that OMS faculty and staff, along with St. Clair County Schools’ Central Office, are taking this matter very seriously,” the statement read.

“We are working closely with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office as part of the ongoing investigation.”
