PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom said that a Providence man who was previously convicted of on state firearm, robbery, and drug trafficking charges admitted to illegally possessing a firearm.

56-year-old Troy Antley was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police stopped Antley for a traffic violation in March 2024.

The officer noticed a knife on the passenger seat, and when he went to investigate also found a round of ammunition in the cupholder and a gun handle protruding from the space between the driver’s seat and center console.

The gun was discovered to have been stolen out of Alabama.

Antley also had a previous federal firearm charge from 2013, and is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 20.
