PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Beloved former Judge Frank Caprio has died at 88 years old, a spokesperson for Caprio posted to social media Wednesday afternoon .
The spokesperson said Caprio “passed away peacefully” after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
In the social media post, it said “Judge Caprio touched the lives of millions through his work in the courtroom and beyond. His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him…. In his honor, may we each strive to bring a little more compassion into the world — just as he did every day.”
In response, Governor Dan McKee said all Rhode Island flags at state agencies and buildings are directed to be flown at half-staff, and remain at at half-staff until sunset on the day of Caprio’s burial out of respect for the fo
