It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karl JÖrgen Knudsen, who left us peacefully on August 14, 2025 at the age of 79. A devoted father, husband, grandfather and true outdoorsman. Karl lived life with the quiet patience of a fisherman and the steady resolve of a hunter.

Born in Gadevang, Denmark, Karl immigrated to Sarnia, Ontario at a young age with his parents and brother where he developed a love for the outdoors while camping at Rock Glen. He met the love of his life, Catherine “Katie” Kenney and they were married in 1968. They set out for an adventure in 1970, moving North to Dryden, Ontario to teach school and enjoy what Northern Ontario has to offer. Karl taught Geography at Dryden High School for his entire career.
