ILION, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The Village of Ilion will be changing the way residents get rid of their trash beginning next week, according to letters sent out to residents.

According to a letter sent out by Mayor John Stephens on Wednesday, August 20, the village will be switching from Spohn's Disposal to Wheelock Disposal Service of West Winfield beginning on Monday, August 25. All sanitation operations will still be handled by the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority.

Stevens says in the letter that all participants in the village's sanitation program should have received a notice on the change in rates.
