BAY CITY, MI – Andrea Burney-Obershaw officially resigned Aug. 18 from her position as Bay City Commissioner for the 3rd Ward, announcing “I’m out” and walking out of City Hall during her final commission meeting.

In her resignation letter, Burney-Obershaw, who once unsuccessfully ran for mayor , stated it was an honor to serve the people of Bay City.

“As I leave this chamber floor I would like to say to my fellow colleagues to remember the Oath we took to be seated at the largest table of the City,” she wrote in her resignation letter, which was read aloud during the meeting. “To uphold the Health and Safety of the people, to protect them from all harm, whether internally or external matters, in this City Hall.”
