FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The intersection of West Michigan Avenue and South Hickory Street in Foley is getting an upgrade!
The City of Foley and the Baldwin County Commission have agreed to a partnership that will bring new traffic signals and turn lanes to the intersection.
According to a BCC news release, the new traffic signals will be a more storm-resilient mast-arm signal. Left turn lanes are expected to be added in all directions, along with a right turn lane eastbound on West Michigan Avenue.
Through the partnership, the city agreed to fund the design cost and the BCC will pay for the construction and inspection costs.
Foley will have ownership over the intersection once the project is complete, according to the release.
