EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A medical study was recently published about how people using screen time can be at higher risk of cardiometabolic disease.
The American Heart Association says the study of over 1,000 participants showed a higher risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and insulin resistance from increased time of using electronic devices.
Doctors say it’s mainly affecting children and young adults.
Ascension St. Vincent Pediatrician Dr. Priya Jothi says there are ways you could help in preventing the risks.
“May be difficult at the beginning, but slowly you know if cutting down on the screen is difficult and you can move the bedtime and the screen time earlier and focus on getting back to bed on time,” said Jothi.
