PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — JetBlue will introduce its Airbus A220 aircraft to flights at Presque Isle International Airport starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to a news release from the airline.

The move comes as jetBlue retires its Embraer 190 fleet. The A220 will offer 140 seats in a 2-3 configuration, allowing the airline to offer lower fares and accommodate more passengers, particularly those connecting through Boston to jetBlue’s broader network, according to the airline.

The 127-foot-long jet features the widest coach seats on any single-aisle U.S. aircraft, with 18.6 inches of seat width and vegan leather cushions, the release said. Six rows will feature "Even More Space" seating with added legroom.
