METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Plans for a new Oschner Medical Complex in Metairie were announced Wednesday, Aug. 20.

According to Oschner Health officials, the facility is intended to expand healthcare services in Jefferson Parish. The facility will be located on the corner of Airline Drive and Tom Benson Way, adjacent to the Ochsner Sports Performance Center. It will cost around $45.6 million and is anticipated to open in 2027. Construction will begin later this year.

The project is being developed in collaboration with the Saints and Pelicans. The complex will be located close to both team's practice facility.

Plans include a two-story building spanning more than 46,000 square feet. Phase one of the building will include pediatrics, women's services, physical therapy, imaging and lab service
