Warren County’s setback restrictions and waivers for tourist rentals remain in place after weeks of debates and concerns raised by residents.

The Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 on Tuesday to deny a proposal to change the zoning ordinance that requires at least 100 feet between a short-term tourist rental and the closest dwelling. The ordinance allows supervisors to grant waivers from the setback requirement.

The proposed ordinance included three options from which supervisors could choose: 100-foot or 50-foot setback and no waivers, or eliminate the requirement altogether.
