EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A Hammonton man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly tried to break into a person's home before fleeing into the woods, police said.
Robert Watson, 40, was charged with burglary and hindering his own apprehension. He was sent to the Atlantic County jail.
A resident in the 2500 block of Fire Road reported a man, identified as Watson, smashed their glass door and attempted to get inside but ran away when the person yelled at him at 9:01 a.m., police said.
The homeowner later said he saw Watson walking on Fire Road at 10:35 a.m. Watson was taken into custody after officers spotted him near the Tiny Hands Academy, police said Wednesday in a news release.
