BRIDGETON — A missing and potentially suicidal individual was found unharmed early Monday, the Upper Deerfield Fire Department said.

Upper Deerfield Search & Rescue received a missing person's report at 2:30 a.m., and a K9 was deployed with a scent article and began a trail from the subject's last known location. The track led through gravel, narrow trails and predominantly hard surfaces, the department said.

The K9 eventually lost the scent, which is consistent with a vehicle pickup. Rescue personnel also located blood and were led to a curbside area where more blood was discovered, the department said Monday in a news release.

It was determined the absence of further blood showed the person was picked up by a vehicle at the location, the department said.
