BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Birmingham Police have made an arrest in connection to an August attempted murder investigation.

According to police, a man, whose identity is being held to due his juvenile status, was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened Aug. 15 in the 400 block of Oporto-Madrid Boulevard North.

The victim in the shooting was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

On Aug. 15, Birmingham Police asked for help in identifying someone who was believed to be a suspect in the shooting . It is not clear whether the suspect arrested is the same person that police were looking for last week.

The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office issued warrants for attempted murder and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
