AKRON, Ohio - A Youngstown man who is already serving a lengthy prison sentence for a deadly 2023 shooting in Mahoning County has been sentenced to life in prison for a separate killing in Akron.

Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Wednesday that Kaylon Adams, 33, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 21 years for the 2024 murder of Roland Williams. Adams pleaded guilty to one count of murder with a firearm specification and one count of having weapons while under disability.

Adams' sentence in the Akron case comes just months after he was sentenced in March to 23 to 28 1/2 years in prison for the November 2023 shooting death of Christian Oliver and the wounding of a 73-year-old woman along Zents Avenue in Youngstown.
