It wasn't immediately clear what took place on Wednesday, at a dirt turnaround near the intersection of Route 2 and Dufour Lane, at the town line between Orono and Old Town. UMaine police said the incident took place at 4:42 p.m., referring to it in an advisory shared on the university's website only as a situation.
