SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A Seminole County judge issued a stern warning Wednesday to a man charged with sexually assaulting a woman along the Wekiva Trail , ordering him to stay away from the popular path.

Patrick Gamache appeared in court for the first time since his arrest in connection with an attack that occurred Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the woman was walking near State Road 434 and Douglas Avenue when Gamache allegedly approached her on an electric scooter, dragged her toward the woodline and began the assault.

The incident was interrupted when a passerby noticed Gamache on top of the victim and quickly called 911, prompting a rapid response from Seminole County deputies. Deputies arrested Gamache nearby shortly afterward.
