ENGLEWOOD – The loss of guard Nick Gargiulo for the season with a torn right ACL was a tough blow for Broncos offensive line coach Zach Strief.
“He’s a really good person that was having a really good (training) camp,’’ Strief said Wednesday after a practice at Broncos Park. “And those are the guys that you least want to see have something like that happen to.”
Gargiulo, a seventh-round pick by Denver in 2024 who spent last season on the practice squad, was hurt in the Broncos’ 27-7 preseason win over Arizona last Saturday. He was placed Sunday on season-ending injured reserve.
“Nick is one of these guys that makes an impact on your locker room,’’ Strief said. “You saw when he got hurt how many guys were worried and out on the field.”
