MANISTEE – Going into last season, Manistee boys soccer head coach Brandon Prince admitted that he set some personal expectations for the Mariners.
Without sharing what they were, Prince said at a recent practice that the team exceeded them … despite a 7-11 record marred by a five-game losing streak in the middle of the season, and an 8-0 loss to Traverse City St. Francis in the district semifinals.
“Getting into how that semifinal against St. Francis, if we could go back, we’d do it differently,” Prince said. “Especially the seniors that left.
“They didn’t experience that atmosphere, and that kind of team push, especially when it comes to tournament time (before).
