PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A man from Tempe, Arizona has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release for attempting to distribute more than 1,000 grams of a mixture and substance containing fentanyl.

At the sentencing hearing for Terence Michael Carroll, 38, on Aug. 14, the Department of Justice said the court considered uncontested evidence that in Dec. 2023, Carroll reportedly mailed a parcel with around 11,757 tablets, or a total of 1,295.4 grams of a mixture and substance that contained fentanyl from Tempe to an address in Peoria.

A federal grand jury indicted Carroll in July 2024 and he was arrested in Arizona at the end of that month, and released on a recognizance bond.

He pled guilty in May 2025 and was detained by U.S. Marshals pending sentencing.
