SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A new private school in the East Valley has no teachers and is instead powered by artificial intelligence.

Twenty-three students are currently enrolled at the K-8 private school in Scottsdale . “I love Alpha School,” said Ruby Roark, a fifth-grade student.

It’s called Alpha School . “There are no teachers at Alpha School, which can sound like a scary sentence,” said Matt Shenker, who is the lead guide , which is similar to a principal.

Instead of teachers, there are guides. “What it means is we, as the adults in the space, take ourselves out of being the authority figure in charge of teaching academics,” said Shenker.

All core subjects are taught by artificial intelligence for only two hours a day.
