MARTINSBURG (WTAJ) -- After a handful of deep playoff runs, Central went 5-6 last season, the program's first losing record since 2019.

"Last year, we we set some lofty goals," said head coach Gerry Albright. "There's a very high standard for Central football, and we didn't reach some of these goals."

It was a difficult "welcome to the Cove" season for first year head coach Gerry Albright and a rebound year won't come easy.

The Dragons lost a lot of seniors including 2-year starting quarterback Eli Muthler, all-state wide receiver Jay Hoenstine, all-conference linebacker Lucas Black. The team's most productive offensive returnee is sophomore Jesse Muthler who compiled 50 rushing and receiving yards, but he's one of two Albright said will play quarterback.
