TEMPLE, Texas — Many Central Texas schools may already be in session, but the Salvation Army is still doing its part to help students in need.
The Salvation Army of Bell County McLane Center of Hope said it and its partners have worked to collect must-have items to "ensure that students go back to school with everything they need," acknowledging that the return to school can be expensive, with costs of school supplies, clothes, shoes and backpacks adding up quickly.
“We work with underprivileged children all year-round at The Salvation Army,” Major Daniel Wilson, Corps Officer in Bell County, said. “We’ve seen first-hand how important it is for them to get off to a good start in the school year.”
