MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. (WKRG) — News 5 has learned more information regarding the partial closure of Magnolia Landing.
Dr. Kenneth Challener, a working physician in Pennsylvania, explained in an email to News 5 that he is the one responsible for closing the walkway to the Magnolia River at Magnolia Landing and wanted to clarify any confusion.
While he is not currently a full-time Magnolia Springs resident, Challener said his family has owned land in the community since the 1890s, and he spends a few months out of the year in town.
Challener said the specific property that the boardwalk crosses over has been in his family since 1907.
