CHARLES TOWN - Washington ran away with the team title in Wednesday's Jefferson Invitational golf tournament at Locust Hill Golf Course, winning by an impressive 21 strokes.

The Patriots finished with a final score of 313, well ahead of second-place Hampshire, which posted a 334. The rest of the field included Martinsburg (349) in third, Jefferson (350) fourth, Hedgesville (355) fifth, Berkeley Springs (366) sixth, Musselman (367) seventh, Moorefield (380) eighth and Spring Mills (430) ninth.

Washington's Tommy Evans earned low medalist honors after shooting a 1-under 72, the only round under par on the day. He was 1-under on the front nine, with two birdies and a bogey, and even par on the back nine with three birdies and three bogeys.
