KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One person has been taken into custody after an officer was injured during a crash that nearly brought an armed carjacking and wrong-way chase to an end.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, law enforcement officials were chasing a suspect near the area of Anderson and Askew Ave. when a crash was reported.

When first responders arrived, they said they found law enforcement officials had been chasing the driver of a silver BMW 640i that had been stolen during an armed carjacking.

Law enforcement officials indicated that the driver of the BMW sped the wrong way, south, down Askew and hit an unoccupied parked gold Buick Enclave in the 200 block.
