SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Phase 2 of construction of the new state building is underway in downtown Shreveport.

According to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) , Phase 2 is the final stage. The existing building was stripped down to its frame and concrete structure in order to accommodate the new building. On Wednesday, Aug. 20, KSLA spoke with Cedric Glover, former mayor of Shreveport and the executive director of the DDA, about how this project is saving taxpayers money.
