SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department has opened a new mobile command center in the Cedar Grove area.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the department held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new mobile command center, which is located at Cedar Grove Park near St. Vincent Avenue and 70th Street.

The new $1 million mobile command center was bought using money from the 2021 bond proposal. It replaces the department’s previous 30-year-old unit. The new mobile command center will help SPD respond to community events, emergencies, and other large-scale incidents.
