INDIANAPOLIS — While the 2025 Indiana State Fair may be in the past, some are still remembering the heroic actions of an Indiana State Police trooper that saved a choking teenager.
On Saturday, Aug. 16, Vincent Scott saw a 14-year-old girl take a drink of her lemon shakeup. Shortly after, he saw her begin to struggle and grab her throat.
Trooper Scott immediately went to assist and used the Heimlich maneuver. After three thrusts, an object was dislodged in the teen's throat and she was immediately able to breathe.
Trooper Scott's shift partner, Ryan Hale, requested EMS to respond as Scott continued to tend to the teen. According to ISP, medics at the fair said she would make "a full recovery without any lasting effects."
